2002 Washington Cabernet Sauvignon

The grapes were harvested exclusively from the Alder Ridge vineyard between October 5th and 21st 2002 at 24.6 brix. Fermentation took about seven days with the wine pumped over two to three times daily. To get the renowned Andrake depth and complexity we gave the wines 18 days of skin contact to extract color and tannins. 34% of the wines were aged in new French oak barrels, the rest in two year-old barrels for 36 months to soften the texture and retain their natural fruit flavors. We then racked four to five times for added clarity. The Cabernet Sauvignon was unfiltered and unfined to give it its massive flavor and richness. Bottling was on September 10th of 2005.

“Our 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic Andrake Cabernet. Big, rich, and concentrated, the wine has layers of fruit to balance the tannins for long term enjoyment” - Bob Andrake
